My Story

For over 20 years I've managed the pain of patients with advanced illness. Traditional pain treatments are very effective for pain caused by structural problems. Yet for many patients, especially those with chronic pain, traditional pain treatments do not work. I felt frustrated that there were many patients whose needs we as medical professionals could not meet. These patients’ symptoms did not fit the traditional medical model of disease diagnosis and treatment. I knew that I needed to find a new way to help these clients.
My search led me to find two breakthrough evidence-based treatment models: 1) Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and 2) Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy. These are treatments with a solid base of high quality research showing that long-lasting pain and symptom relief is possible.
I'm excited because now I have an effective way to meet more patients’ needs, particularly those considered “difficult to treat.”
Since training in these two techniques, I feel I’ve found the missing puzzle piece. Finally I have reliable, evidence-based tools to combine with my nursing skills and years of clinical expertise. In partnership with my patients, we are able to better explain the source of the formerly unexplained pain and symptoms. Together, we can understand, manage, and even cure stubborn-seeming pain and symptoms.
It's truly a new era in pain and symptom relief. I’m delighted to join you on this exciting path to recovery.
